Annie is Anemic

A is for Anemia. The doctor talked to me today and told me that Annie is very anemic. Basically what this means is that Annie is having trouble making enough red blood cells to keep up with her growth rate. The red blood cells in babies have a shorter life span than those of adults and if she is unable to replenish them quickly enough they may have to give her a blood transfusion. They will check her levels again on Monday and determine if she needs this. It is a common condition of premature babies for many reasons. Please keep praying for Annie!
